Day 01 : Colombo – Kandy

Situated halfway between Colombo and Kandy, the orphanage has a population of about 75 elephants, making it the world's largest collection of captive elephants. The elephants here range from newborn calves to elderly matriarchs and include orphaned and abandoned elephants, as well as those injured in the wild. Amongst them are its famous residents, Sama, the lame elephant injured by a land mine during the ethnic conflict in the North and Raja, the blind elephant. Experience the sheer delight of watching these great pachyderms frolic in the river at bath time or the baby elephants being fed twice a day. Transfer to Kandy overnight stay.
Day 02: Kandy
Morning after breakfast, you will be shown local kandy tour.
This jewel of a city, set 480m above sea level and surrounded by mountains is the hill capital of Sri Lanka. Kandy was the last independent Kingdom of Sri Lanka, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century.
Visit the majestic Royal Palace and the Temple of the Tooth, known as the Dalada Maligawa, set at the edge of a beautiful artificial lake, which is home to the island’s most revered relic, the Buddha's tooth, which arrived here in the sixteenth century and view a traditional dance performance.
Take a stroll down the expansive Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, the largest and finest in Sri Lanka, which covers almost 150 acres. A pleasure garden of the kings of Kandy, it was transformed into a botanical garden by the British in 1821.
Kandy is famous for its shopping' The narrow streets are lined with shops displaying beautiful precious and semi precious gems, skillfully crafted jewelry, handicrafts, colourful batiks, silks and many more.

Day 03: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Morning after breakfast, transfer from kandy to Nuwara Eliya. On arrival Nuwara Eliya Check in Hotel.

The Sita Amman Temple can be seen on route to Hakgala along the Nuwara Eliya Badulla Road. According to tradition, the site is associated with Sita of the Ramayana epic. Ancient statues of Rama and Sita can be seen on a side of the temple. Tea, the glistening green leaves of this lovely shrub, along with neat rows of green, cloak ridges and valleys providing a lasting impression of Sri Lanka’s Hill Country. Day 01: Arrival at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.
Welcome by our representative & transfer to Chilaw. (1.5 hrs) Visit Muneeswaram and Manawari.
Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya in one of King Ravana’s vimana’s. He felt he was being followed by bramhaasthi dosham as he had killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin. He stopped the vimana at this juncture because he felt at this place the “Brahmaasthi Dosham” was not following him. He ascended from the vimana and asked God Shiva for a remedy. God Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised him installing and praying four lingams at Manavari, Thiru Koneshwaram, Thiru Ketheshwaram and Rameshwaram in India, as the only remedy to get rid of the dosham.
Manavari is the first place where Lord Rama installed and prayed the Siva lingam after the end of the war with King Ravana. To date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama.

Day 02: After breakfast at Hotel Hilltop transfer from Kandy to Nuwara-Eliya.(3 hrs)
En-route visit Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple at Ramboda. It believed that Lord Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi in this area. The Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka has built this temple.
Lunch at an outside restaurant.
Visit Sita Amman temple.
The Sita Amman Temple can be seen on route to Hakgala along the Nuwara Eliya Badulla Road. It is believed to be the place from where King Ravana’s son Meghanath propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and poojas and in turn was granted super natural powers by lord Shiva.

Day 03: After breakfast at Windsor Hotel transfer to Bandarawela. (2 hrs)
Visit Divurumpola Temple. Divurumpola- means a ‘place of oath’. Divurumpola is the place that Sitadevi, after her liberation from King Ravana underwent a test to prove here chastity by offering herself to fire. However she came unscathed and proved here innocence and purity.The message of Rama’s victory over Ravana was sent to Sita. After a bath and adorned with jewels she was taken on a palanquin before Rama.

Evening visit Ella. (Rawana caves)
Ella is known for the breathtaking views it has to offer. To quote a Traveler the view through the Ella gap is probably the best in the entire island. Besides its spectacular views, the walks around the surrounding hills of the village, among tea plantations and waterfalls is an experience not to be missed. It is said the weather in Ella is similar to a hot English summer, warm during the day and cool at night.
The place is also linked to the Ramayana tales, where it is said the demon king Rawana kept the captive Sita hidden in a cave not too far from the present day village.
Overnight stay at Bandarawela Hotel or similar.
Day 04: After breakfast at Bandarawela Hotel transfer from Bandarawela to Colombo.(5 hrs)

Visit the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya, which was a temple built in the 3rd century B.C. Kelaniya was one of the three places visited by the Buddha during his visits to Sri Lanka. Kelaniya is also the centre for traditional Sinhala pottery.
Within the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara Temple is a s special shrine dedicated to Vibushana, king Ravana’s brother, who allied with Rama in the struggle to rescue Sita. Even during the Ravana regime Vibushana was in charge of Kelaniya.
In the evening visit Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple at kalubowila.A Temple dedicated to Anjaneyar temple in Sri lanka.The only temple in the world to have a chariot for Anjaneyar.
After visit the Anjaneyar temple do a Colombo city tour.
Colombo like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. TOUR ITINERARY
Day 01 : Airport - Kandy
On arrival at Srilanka, meet our tour representative who will escort you to the cab to drive to Kandy. En-route visit Elephant Orphanage in Pinnewala.
Pinnewala… the Elephant Orphanage located on the banks of the Maha Oya, is mainly to house young elephants who find themselves displaced and lost from their natural habitats for various reasons – environmental changes due to development projects, being abandoned by their parents when they fall into pits and ravines, etc. It is most interesting to visit at feeding or bathing time.
On arrival at Kandy, check in at comfortable hotel where you can get refreshed. Late evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and view a traditional dance performance. Later in the night return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 02 : Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast proceed on a Kandy city tour, Kandy… this royal city, sheltered by the hills and looped by the Mahaweli – Sri Lanka’s longest river still holds religious and cultural significance. A stroll around the sleepy, but serene Kandy Lake, where balmy winds waft across, a visit to the University of Peradeniya – the spacious green campus laid out near the banks of the Mahaweli is a must for any visitor to Kandy. Visit the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts & crafts center, a gem museum and a lapidary.
Thereafter proceed to Nuwara Eliya…enroute visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Here you could observe all about the process of manufacturing tea. You can also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory.
Nuwara Eliya… nestled in a wooded basin at the foot of Mount Pidurutalagala which is Srilanka’s highest peak. A serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of Colombo, the town seems like a piece of the English Lake District. Unusual plants, birds and animals thrive here besides natural feature like waterfalls and caves. Tea, the glistening green leaves of this lovely shrub, along with neat rows of green, cloak ridges and valleys providing a lasting impression of Sri Lanka’s Hill Country. The golf course – one of the most finest and picturesque in Asia – the serene Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity, beautiful parks and well kept lawns and hedges give the place an air of nostalgia.
Overnight at Nuwara Eliya.
Day 03 : Nuwara Eliya - Kataragama
Morning after breakfast, proceed to Kataragama, en-route visiting the Rawana Falls.
Evening visit Kataragama for Pooja. Kataragama is perhaps the most visited holy places in the country. Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims flock to the shrines located here. The deity most often associated with Kataragama is Skanda. Buddhists travel to Kataragama ostensibly to visit the Kirivehera, a dagoba where the Buddha is said to have meditated in his 3rd and final visit to Sri Lanka.
Later in the night return back to the hotel for an overnight stay at Kataragama.
Day 04 : Kataragama - Bentota
Morning after breakfast, proceed to Kalutara via Galle city tour. Galle … the port city, standing on one of the main sea routes in the southern part of the city, it has a unique charm among many historic places in Sri Lanka. The Dutch built the 1st Protestant church in Sri Lanka here, and it is also famous for its Dutch Fort.
Later drive to Bentota, located 65 km away from Colombo. Bentota has a lot to offer to its visitors. From a number of festivals to shopping, Bentota is truly a tourist's delight. The artifacts and handicrafts on offer at the many stalls/shops at Bentota are appreciated worldwide and would serve as great gifts to carry back home. Don't forget to try out the local food at Bentota that would just delight your taste buds. Spend the evening at leisure on the beach. Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 05 : Bentota - Colombo
Morning after breakfast, proceed to Colombo and check in at comfortable hotel where you can get refreshed. A drive through the city will take you to Colombo’s most fashionable residential district — the Cinnamon Gardens and the Pettah, Colombo’s busiest and most traditional bazaar area. Visit the Hindu temple with elaborate stone carvings, the Dutch church at Wolfendhal dating back to 1749, the historic Devatagaha mosque and observe the old parliament, the BMICH (Bandaaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall). Also, visit the ceramics corporation showroom, Majestic City shopping complex, House of Fashion and the Odel unlimited dress boutique. Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 06 : Colombo - Airport
Morning after breakfast, drive to Colombo International airport to board your flight to the onwards destination.

Day 01: Arrival at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport. Welcome by our representative & transfer to Chilaw. (1.5 hrs) Visit Muneeswaram and Manawari.
Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya in one of King Ravana’s vimana’s. He felt he was being followed by bramhaasthi dosham as he had killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin. He stopped the vimana at this juncture because he felt at this place the “Brahmaasthi Dosham” was not following him. He ascended from the vimana and asked God Shiva for a remedy. God Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised him installing and praying four lingams at Manavari, Thiru Koneshwaram, Thiru Ketheshwaram and Rameshwaram in India, as the only remedy to get rid of the dosham.
Manavari is the first place where Lord Rama installed and prayed the Siva lingam after the end of the war with King Ravana. To date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama.

Day 02: Breakfast at Kassapa Lion Rock Hotel and transfer to Trincomalee. (3 hrs)
Visit Vilundri – It is believed that on his return Lord Rama stopped at this place to reach Thiru Koneshwaram. He rested his bow on the ground here. Visit Shakti Peedam and Thiru Koneshwaram Temple.
Lankayam Shankari Devi starts the Sloka of Ashta Dasha Shakti Peethas, written by Sri Jagadguru Aadi Shankaracharya.
Shankari Devi temple in Tricomalee, Srilanka is a prominent temple for Hindus. But, it is most rarely visited and it is very least popular in all AstaDasha Shakti Peethas.Shankari Devi Temple is situated in an east coast town of Srilanka,Trincomalee. Along with the temple of Shankari Devi, there is a temple of Lord Shiva – TRIKONESHWARA Temple.

Visit Kanniya hot water springs.
With the end of the war, many people visiting this Kanniya Hot Water spring in their trip to Trincomalee. People believe that this hot water is good for some skin deceases and it has healing power for Arthritis and Rheumatic. You have to come in less crowded time and please note that this is a religious place. Respect others and give them also the opportunity.
According to the details provided in some information boards at the site, Kanniya Hot water spring has the history from the King Rawana era. It says that King Ravana stuck the earth with his sward in several spots and several fountains were started on those places. The water was hot and that’s the beginning of this hot water springs.

Day 03: Breakfast at Sea Lotus Park Hotel and transfer to Matale. (4 hrs)
Visit Lord Rama Temple.

Transfer to Ramboda (3 hrs)
Evening visit Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple at Ramboda. It believed that Lord Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi in this area. The Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka has built this temple.

Day 04: Breakfast at Ramboda Falle Hotel and transfer to Nuwara-Eliya. (1.5 hrs)
Visit Sita Amman temple
The Sita Amman Temple can be seen on route to Hakgala along the Nuwara Eliya Badulla Road. The prominent temple architecture will not fail to attract your attention on the way to the Hakgala Botanical Gardens from Nuwara Eliya. According to tradition, the site is associated with Sita of the Ramayana epic. Ancient statues of Rama and Sita can be seen on a side of the temple. The temple seen today is a modern building with its paintings, statues and pillars decorated with sculptures, all depicting the tale of Rama and Sita. The rear of the temple overlooks a stream, while from its front can be seen the Hakgala peak.
Visit Gayathri Pedam
It is believed to be the place from where King Ravana’s son Meghanath propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and poojas and in turn was granted super natural powers by lord Shiva

Transfer to Bandarawela. (2 hrs)
Visit Divurumpola Temple. Divurumpola- means a ‘place of oath’. Divurumpola is the place that Sitadevi, after her liberation from King Ravana underwent a test to prove here chastity by offering herself to fire. However she came unscathed and proved here innocence and purity.The message of Rama’s victory over Ravana was sent to Sita. After a bath and adorned with jewels she was taken on a palanquin before Rama.
Evening visit Ella. (Rawava caves)
Ella is known for the breathtaking views it has to offer. To quote a Traveler the view through the Ella gap is probably the best in the entire island. Besides its spectacular views, the walks around the surrounding hills of the village, among tea plantations and waterfalls is an experience not to be missed. It is said the weather in Ella is similar to a hot English summer, warm during the day and cool at night.
The place is also linked to the Ramayana tales, where it is said the demon king Rawana kept the captive Sita hidden in a cave not too far from the present day village.

Day 05: Breakfast at Bandarawela Hotel & transfer from Bandarawela to Colombo. (5 hrs)

Visit the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya, which was a temple built in the 3rd century B.C. Kelaniya was one of the three places visited by the Buddha during his visits to Sri Lanka. Kelaniya is also the centre for traditional Sinhala pottery.
Within the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara Temple is a s special shrine dedicated to Vibushana, king Ravana’s brother, who allied with Rama in the struggle to rescue Sita. Even during the Ravana regime Vibushana was in charge of Kelaniya.
In the evening visit Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple at kalubowila.A Temple dedicated to Anjaneyar temple in Sri lanka.The only temple in the world to have a chariot for Anjaneyar.
After visit the Anjaneyar temple do a Colombo city tour.
Colombo like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Day 04 : Nuwara Eliya - Sita Eliya - Hambantota
After breakfast visit Sita Eliya, it is claimed that Raavana, the Devil King of Srilanka abducted the beautiful virtuous wife of Rama from India on the complaint made by Ravana’s sister that she had been insulted and disfigured by Laksman, the brother of Rama. Sita was tricked and brought to Srilanka and our local legends say she was hidden in various location of Sri Lanka. Whatever may be the claims Sita Eliya takes pride of place, as the place where Rama hid her to escape, the wrathful Rama, who waged war against Ravana and finally saved his Sita.
Thereafter proceed to Hambantota enroute visiting the Bundala bird sanctuary and do a jeep safari. Bundala Bird Sanctuary…is the place to visit if you love bird watching. Sri Lanka’s only Ramsar Wetland, it plays host to over 20,000 snore birds, at any given time, from August to April. Bundala is the end point of a vast migration of birds from the North. The lagoons and inter-tidal mud flats are nestling and feeding site for wintering birds. But birds are not the only attraction at this sanctuary. Elephants, Deer, Wild Buffalo roam free and 4 of the 5 species of endangered turtles visit this area.
